White Lies
Single: Am I Really Going To Die
For Fans Of: Bloc Party, Editors, We Are Scientists, Kasabian
The band's Charles Cave says: “‘Am I Really Going to Die’ is a song with familiar subject matter for White Lies but a new chapter musically. It’s the first part of a two-song narrative about a self-important hot-shot given a terminal diagnosis, and the various stages of his coming to terms with it. ‘AIRGTD’ is loosely inspired by the great Danny Huston’s character in ‘Ivans XTC’, and musically by ‘Station to Station’ era Bowie.”
See them live: Rock City Nottingham 10th March, O2 Academy Bristol 19th March
Metronomy
Single: Things will be fine
For Fans Of: Hot Chip, Klaxons, LCD Soundsystem, Django Django
Frontman Joe Mount describes the video as: “sort of pseudo role-play therapy session in which we all re-visit our teenage selves. Everyone ended up more scarred than they did before making it…apart from Michael and his f*#king guinea pigs.”
See them live: O2 Academy Bristol 4th May, O2 Academy Oxford 5th May
