Another Friday means a whole host of new music released for your listening pleasure! This week, we check out the latest new tracks from Declan McKenna, Novo Amor, Bloxx and Thomas Headon!
Declan McKenna
Channelling a vibe of 1970’s glam-pop, McKenna’s second album ‘Zeros’ is an absolute earworm for anyone still obsessed with his breakthrough track ‘Brazil’ and David Bowie fans alike. Brimming with punchy guitars and rolling keyboards, this album is charged with political topics and poignant lyrics that surprise any listener when realising they’re being sung by a 21 year old of Mckenna’s incredible musical stature. His unique talent is perfectly illustrated throughout this album, especially in ‘Be an Astronaut’ so make sure you bag a ticket to see him perform it live at Nottingham’s Rock City next April.

Novo Amor
As the second track to be lifted from his forthcoming LP ‘Cannot Be, Whatsoever’, producer, multi-instrumentalist and sound designer Novo Amor has just dropped the epic tune ‘If We’re Being Honest’ and we can’t get enough of it. Accompanied by a one-shot music video directed by Charlie Reader, the track is delicate, uplifting and entirely attuned with the state the world finds itself in at the moment. The perfect listen for your morning coffee, check it out below and make sure you pick up a ticket for his Manchester show next April.

Bloxx
Celebrating the release of their long-awaited debut album ‘Lie Out Loud’, Bloxx have certainly secured a bright future in the music bizz with this genre-defying record! Offering a shimmer of stomping basslines, fuzzy riffs and 80’s pop bops, the album has a few stand out tracks ‘Give Me My Keys’ and ‘Go Out With You’, which we strongly recommend a listen. This experimental London-based collective will be playing in Nottingham and Bristol next April, pick up your tickets below.
Thomas Headon
Clocking up over 540k monthly listeners on Spotify, 20 year old Thomas Headon might be new to the music scene but he certainly knows how to make sounds of timeless calibre. With the release of his brand new single ‘UrbanAngel1999’ landing today, it’s hard to ignore the funky, synth infused beats and classic indie vocals which Headon adopts and certainly makes him one to watch for 2021. Pick up your tickets to see him perform the track live at Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms and Bristol’s Thekla in April 2021.
